Free TEAS 7 Science Practice Questions
Science is the section most TEAS candidates fear, and human anatomy and physiology is the biggest reason: it carries the largest share of the fifty questions. The seven free practice questions below are a fair sample of what the section asks, drawn across all four content areas.

In anatomical position, which term describes a body structure located toward the midline of the body?

Correct answer: A, Medial
Medial describes a position toward the body’s midline; lateral describes the opposite, away from the midline. Proximal and distal describe closeness to a limb’s point of attachment rather than distance from the midline, and superior describes an upward position, not a side-to-side one.

Correct answer: A, Lipids
The phospholipid bilayer described is composed of lipids, whose amphipathic structure (a hydrophilic phosphate head and hydrophobic fatty acid tails) allows it to form the cell membrane. Carbohydrates and proteins are also membrane components but are not what forms the core bilayer, and nucleic acids are not membrane structural molecules at all.
The AV node normally delays the electrical impulse briefly before it passes into the ventricles. If this delay did not occur, which outcome would most likely result?

The AV node's delay allows the atria to finish contracting and fill the ventricles before ventricular contraction begins. The other options describe unrelated or physiologically implausible effects.
A patient has a genetic condition in which the sebaceous glands secrete almost no sebum. Based on the normal function of these glands, which outcome is most likely?

Sebaceous glands secrete sebum, an oily substance that lubricates and waterproofs the skin and hair; without it, skin becomes dry and prone to cracking. Sweat production is controlled by sweat glands, pigmentation depends on melanocytes, and sensation depends on nerve endings, none of which are directly caused by sebum loss.
For the reversible reaction CO(g) + H2O(g) ⇌ CO2(g) + H2(g), a chemist continuously removes CO2 gas as it forms while keeping temperature constant. Which best predicts the effect on the equilibrium position?

How many science questions are on the TEAS 7?
The science section has 50 questions in 60 minutes, and 44 of them are scored (the other six are unscored pretest items). Anatomy and physiology carries the largest share.
Is the TEAS science section hard?
Most test-takers find it the hardest section, because it leans on anatomy and physiology and rewards broad recall. It is very learnable with focused practice, which is what these questions are for.
Are these real TEAS questions?
No, and they never will be. Every item is written from scratch and mapped to ATI’s published content outline. Reusing live exam questions would breach ATI’s terms, and it would not help you learn.
