What you will be able to do

State what a good summary must contain, in what order, and with what level of accuracy.
Eliminate a summary choice because it is incomplete, reordered without reason, or simply wrong.
Build your own one or two sentence summary of a short passage before you even look at the answer choices.

What the lesson concludes

A summary restates the whole passage in miniature, keeping every important idea and dropping the detail.
Run each choice through three checks in order: completeness, then order, then accuracy.
A choice that covers only one section of the passage is a part, not a summary, so eliminate it.
A single invented or reversed detail sinks the whole choice, however well the rest of it reads.
Write your own one-line summary before you read the options, then match it against them.
